No. Most Capitol Corridor trains are unreserved, meaning you can buy a ticket and board without a reservation. However, some special routes (like connecting bus segments or certain promotions) might require advance purchase.

Tickets are available online through Amtrak or Capitol Corridor websites, at staffed station ticket counters, at station kiosks, and onboard the train. Buying onboard may include a surcharge unless you are boarding at an unstaffed station.

The Capitol Corridor offers one-way and round-trip tickets, 10-ride tickets, and monthly unlimited ride passes for frequent travelers.

Refunds are available under Amtrak’s ticketing rules. One-way and round-trip tickets are refundable with a small fee. Ten-ride tickets are fully refundable if unused. Monthly passes are refundable before the month begins or partially refundable within the first ten days. After that, they are not refundable. Tickets remain valid for one year from purchase.

Lost items can be reported through Amtrak’s Lost & Found service online or at staffed stations.
